Gary Drake or “Drake” is a subject matter expert and leader in the security and training industries.  He has been nationally recognized for his exceptional instructorship with an induction to the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2016. 

Drake is the primary instructor for an internationally recognized security company.  There he coordinates, develops, and instructs the firearms, defensive tactics, less lethal, and use of force training for high profile executive protection teams.  He has worked corporate, executive, and celebrity security details for approximately 15 years. For about the last 10 years he has also worked as an Executive Protection Agent, with High Value Transport, Residential Security, and training.  

Drake honed his skills throughout a lifetime of practicing martial arts and serving his community as a 22-year law enforcement veteran.  His law enforcement career includes working as a Patrol Supervisor, SWAT Team Leader, Narcotics Detective, Narcotics K-9 Handler, and Correction Officer.  He is currently also a Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission Law Enforcement and Private Security Instructor, Master Firearms Instructor, and Master Defensive Tactics Instructor.  He has instructed hundreds of new and veteran officers at the state’s police academy, including everything from entry-level courses to advanced training.  Moreover, Drake is a proud military veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps in the infantry and security fields.

Drake continues his own training as well, having successfully completed many courses in Executive Protection, Medical Training in basic first aid/CPR, travel medicine, and Tactical Casualty Care, and Escape and Evade Vehicle Operations.  In 2007, he was awarded a lifesaving recognition from The American Red Cross.
